Hate the actions of the condemned, rather then the person
Terrorism seems to be the big thing now, eclipsing the "war on drugs" that began a few decades ago. It can be frustrating trying to come to terms with the many changes caused by the cruel acts of others. It seems to impact those who use airports the most.
When hearing of a terrorist attack, the first reaction by some people is revenge and hate. Since the war on terror began (since 911 which was 2001), has this policy of revenge erased terrorism? No. In fact is serves as a reminder that acts of revenge only continue to fuel acts of terrorism.
To start with we need to see the person(s) who commit such acts by feeling pity and seeing them as having no future or hope. How does one feel pity for people who commit such dreadful acts? First we must learn to separate our emotions from the actual acts committed by the perpetrator. In the grand universal order of things they are fellow human beings with lost souls, craving for attention. We can hate their actions instead of the terrorist him or herself. This means separating our feelings from the acts of the terrorists themselves. By creating a separation of hating their actions rather then the individual, it leads to a greater understanding of their motivations and compassion from those impacted by it. You will then end up hating only their actions and not the actual person(s) themselves. If you focus on only hating the person, you become that person. You provide more fuel for spreading terrorism further. This is how the justice system operates in most democracies. The person is given a fair trial and they are tried for how actions impacted society.
Many people in the middle east when they were interviewed by reporters stated that one of the reasons they became terrorists was because they had lost their land due to war. The pain of their loss was so powerful and deep it changed their view towards others. They become so enraged, that people they once loved they now saw as enemies. By understanding this simple concept, it gives one the freedom to keep separate the evil actions of others from diluting the true freedom we take for granted.
It gives us a free pass to avoid lowering our vibrations down to those who commit acts of hatred.
.
Compassion is so simple it is commonly overlooked as being the true healer.
Aggressive Action without Compassion is always Counterproductive.
