Scientists Find Link Between Solar Activity & Life Span

The sun is the greatest teacher of all. By understanding how the cycles of its energy flow and govern life and assemble matter, we grow and evolve towards a better world for all. We can also learn creative methods to solve challenging problems and understand where we are headed.

Association between acute glaucoma and the weather and sunspot activity

Sunspot Solar Activity and Climate Change

Because the past creates our future, we can examine the past solar cycles and once we see the effects these cycles had on the weather, we can plot a future trend.

The Croll/Milankovitch theory attributes the chilling and warming of the globe to changes in sunlight hitting the Earth. These changes result from the tilting and wobbling of the Earth on its axis, due to the stretching of the path the Earth takes in its journey around the Sun. These cycles repeat themselves every 41,000 years, 23,000 years, and 100,000 years respectively

Croll published an article in 1864 in the Philosophical Magazine “On the Physical Cause of the Change of Climate During Geological Epochs.” In this paper Croll introduced changes in earth's orbit as likely periodic and extraterrestrial mechanisms for initiating multiple glacial epochs.

These cosmical factors provided a mechanism for multiple glacial epochs and alternating cold and warm periods in each hemisphere.
http://www.eoearth.org/view/article/153942/

Milankovitch, being a mathematician, took Croll's work and set out to develop a mathematical theory of climate change.  His theory states "that as the Earth travels through space around the sun cyclical variations in three elements of Earth-sun geometry combine to produce variations in the amount of solar energy that reaches Earth.

The effects from higher solar activity affects primarily 3 groups.  Those with sensitive nervous systems due to the body being genetically unable to tolerate these stronger solar energies, people who work around or with essential oils, which usually include people in day and beauty spas and massage salons.  This is because during higher solar activity, the essential oils resonate and reflect the higher energies of solar energy especially when the essential oils are inhaled, and people who work with large numbers of people such as public speakers, musicians etc,  This is because declining solar activity affects the moods of some people, as we demonstrate in the condition orange periods where violence becomes more common as the solar activity declines after being at high levels for a period of time.

Reaction Time and Solar Activity

Dr. Bernhard developed tests of human visual and auditory reaction time to study effects of weather and solar activity, publishing a book (his professorial dissertation) on the topic. His unpublished finding of an increased incidence of airplane crashes in association with higher solar activity was validated after his death, among others, by Tatiana Zenchenko and A. M. Merzlyi.Bernhard Düll spent over 10 yrs evaluating internationally recorded airplane crashes and their relation to solar activity, finding an association of the latter with an increase in the former. His unpublished results were confirmed by a subsequent study (Zenchenko and Merzlyi, 2008). Bernhard Düll died on 21 November 1983 at 75 yrs. Traute Düll died on 24 April 1999 at age 90.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3819124/

There were pronounced fluctuations in the percentage germination of seeds of Chenopodium botrys that were kept stored in darkness under carefully controlled conditions of temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. The fluctuations in percentage germination showed highly significant correlations between the fluctuations in germination and solar radio flux (10.7 cm wavelength, indicative of sunspot activity). The best positive correlation between values for solar radio flux and percentage germination suggested that the effect of solar flux on germination (whether direct or indirect) was greatest during the week immediately preceding the wetting of seeds.

Documented Research of Weather Effects Generated by the Moon and Planets

KP Activity and The Moon

"An analysis of 31 years of Kp data suggests a variation of geomagnetic disturbance with lunar phase. A general increase in geomagnetic activity of about 4% begins after full moon and lasts for seven days. A general decrease in geomagnetic activity of about 4% is found for the seven days preceding full moon. A study of randomized data indicates that the probability that these variations should have occurred by chance is less than 5%."

A Look into Extreme Weather Events of 2010 and 2011 Through Sky Mapping.  Research by Brian Keats
The years of the greatest cyclone season activity are years when the perigee is on or near the equator. 2011 is the first of these after a lull period. These heavier-cyclone years come around every 3-4 years, but alternate the hemispheres. Most cyclones occur just below the equator or just above, and it is rare for a cyclone system to cross the equator. Mostly they will drift north or south of their points of generation.

Title: Effects of geomagnetic activity variations on the physiological and psychological state of functionally healthy humans
"This paper describes some results of the experimental studies of influence of the periodical and aperiodical changes of geomagnetic activity upon human brain, human health and psycho-emotional state. It also covers the conclusions of studies on influence of violent solar events and severe geomagnetic storms of the solar cycle 23 on the mentioned systems in middle-latitude location. It is experimentally established that weak and moderate geomagnetic storms do not cause significant changes in the brain's bioelectrical activity and exert only stimulating influence while severe disturbances of geomagnetic conditions cause negative influence, seriously disintegrate brain's functionality, activate braking processes and amplify the negative emotional background of an individual. It is concluded that geomagnetic disturbances affect mainly emotional and vegetative spheres of human beings while characteristics reflecting personality properties do not undergo significant changes."

Title: Effect of geomagnetic storms on the erythrocyte sedimentation rate in ischemic patients
"
The dynamics of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in patients with ischemic disease shows a significantly different pattern in the days of raised geomagnetic activity as compared to quiet days. Title: Geomagnetic storms by Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The (nearly direct) currents induced in these lines from geomagnetic storms are harmful to electrical transmission equipment, especially generators and transformers induces core saturation, constraining their performance (as well as tripping various safety devices), and causes coils and cores to heat up. This heat can disable or destroy them, even inducing a chain reaction that can overload and blow transformers throughout a system. Rapidly fluctuating geomagnetic fields can produce geomagnetically induced currents in pipelines. This can cause multiple problems for pipeline engineers. Flow meters in the pipeline can transmit erroneous flow information, and the corrosion rate of the pipeline is dramatically increased.[26][27] If engineers incorrectly attempt to balance the current during a geomagnetic storm, corrosion rates may increase even more.

Title: A method for studying the effect of the geomagnetic field on the vital activities of microorganisms
"The differences in the reproductive capacity and survival time of microorganisms in the test and control vials were compared with the indices of geomagnetic disturbances. If the experiments were started 2-4 days before the appearance of geomagnetic disturbances, the suppression of the reproductive capacity of microorganisms occurred, then followed its stimulation; this phenomenon particularly affected Escherichia coli and Shigella sonnei. In case of the quiet state of GMF the suppression of reproductive capacity is commonly observed. If the beginning of the experiment coincides with the appearance of a magnetic storm, a sharp decrease in the reproductive capacity of microorganisms and the death of the population within 1-5 days usually occurred. The survival rate of microorganisms depended on the state of GMF disturbances."

Title: Geomagnetic Activity Related to Mental Activity
"We conducted retrospective analyses of possible relations between GMF activity and (a) electrodermal activity (as an index of sympathetic autonomic activity), (b) rate of hemolysis of human red blood cells in vitro, (c) attempted distant mental (i.e., psychokinetic) influence of electrodermal activity, and (d) attempted distant mental (psychokinetic) influence of rate of hemolysis. For each of these four measures, high activity was associated with high GMF values, while low activity was associated with low GMF values. The relations were statistically significant for three of the four analyses and showed a consistent trend in the fourth."
